This Working in Confined Spaces course provides learners with the knowledge they need to identify confined spaces and makes them aware of the hazards and risks of working in a confined space.

The law requires employers to take reasonable steps to safeguard the health and safety of all employees. One of these steps should be to raise awareness of the hazards of working in a confined space.

This online course takes around 2 hours to complete. However, you do not have to complete it in one sitting as your progress is saved at the end of each topic.

This Working in Confined Space online training only provides awareness education. Face to face training would be needed in addition in order to complete the all-round skills and knowledge to be able to carry this forward practically in your organisation.

Who needs Working in Confined Spaces training?

The course is suitable for anyone whose work requires them to enter a confined space.

If you work in a confined space, you may face an increased risk of serious injury or illness through exposure to hazards that would not occur when working in the open. Therefore regular training is recommended.

Reviewed and approved by lead bodies

Our course has been assured by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents as providing up-to-date, quality and content-approved training.

Course assessment

Once a candidate has completed the nine topics, they will be allowed to take the assessment. The online course generates an assessment from question banks so that the questions change each time a candidate takes the test. Therefore, it makes the training suitable for initial or refresher training.

We do not limit the number of attempts at the assessment. In addition, the training course gives informative feedback so candidates can learn from incorrect responses.

The importance of Confined Space training

The Health & Safety at Work Act and the Confined Space Regulations aim to ensure people have adequate training and are competent to carry out work in a confined space.

Confined space training provides workers with the knowledge to be able to identify potential hazards and reduce the risks associated with working in a confined space. People who know the dangers are more aware and are therefore more careful. Cautious measures can save lives and reduce injuries.

A workforce, properly trained in confined spaces, will reduce accidents and, therefore, sick leave, which will save you money and will keep your workforce productive.
