The importance of CDM Regulation training
Every year in the UK, workers are killed and thousands are seriously injured in the construction sector, making it a very high-risk industry. Recent figures from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) show that there were 53,000 non-fatal accidents, 45 fatal accidents and 3 fatal injuries to members of the public within the sector.
CDM 2015 is the main set of regulations for managing construction workers’ health, safety and welfare in England, Scotland, and Wales. Understanding the CDM Regulations is essential to carrying out construction work safely.
Where do CDM Regulations apply?
The regulations apply to every commercial and residential construction project, regardless of the project size or duration. Duty holders must ensure all workers’ health, safety and welfare, whether the project is a new build, demolition, extension, or refurbishment, alongside repair and maintenance work. For more information, read our article What are the CDM regulations?.
